Add something a little different to your spider plant collection with the Hawaiian Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum 'Hawaiian'). This distinctive variety features arching green foliage with lighter variegation that can change in appearance as the plant grows and matures.

Its compact, flowing growth makes it a beautiful choice for shelves, plant stands, desktops, and hanging displays. Like other spider plants, mature Hawaiian Spider Plants may also produce trailing stems with small plantlets, often called spiderettes or "babies," that can eventually be propagated.

Bright, indirect light is ideal for healthy growth and attractive foliage. Hawaiian Spider Plants can tolerate lower-light conditions, although growth and coloration may vary. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

💧 Water

Allow the upper portion of the soil to begin drying between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.

💦 Humidity

Average household humidity is generally suitable. Very dry conditions may contribute to brown leaf tips.

🌡️ Temperature

Hawaiian Spider Plants do well in typical indoor temperatures. Protect your plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

🌱 Growth

As the plant matures, its foliage becomes fuller and more arching. The appearance of the variegation can also change as leaves mature. Established plants may eventually produce trailing stems with small spiderettes that can be propagated.

Spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. As with any houseplant, it's still best to discourage pets from chewing on the foliage.
